(June 25, 2025) – Ripple Fiber, a Charlotte-based provider of high-speed fiber internet services, collaborated with SC Works for the June 24 SC@Work: Rural Connections event in Woodruff, South Carolina. Hosted at the Woodruff Leisure Center, residents in Woodruff and the surrounding areas had the opportunity to stop by the mobile unit—an extension of the statewide SC Works centers—for free access to computers and printers. Supporting Ripple Fiber’s mission to promote community impact, technology-driven programs provide those lacking reliable tools with the digital support they need to advance their careers.

“As we bring our fiber internet service to new communities, we are vigilant in identifying opportunities for Ripple Fiber to support local initiatives that are meaningful to residents and create impactful change,” said Bobbie Gilbert, Chief Government Affairs Officer at Ripple Fiber. “When we learned about this access-driven program hosted by SC Works, we developed great respect for the meaningful difference they’re making across South Carolina and are proud to collaborate with their dedicated team.”

Hosted multiple times per month, this initiative centers around job training and employment assistance. With SC Works staff available to help with job searching, resume creation and improvement, interview preparation, and unemployment insurance application. As with many of these events, veteran-focused resources were also offered. Aiming to assist in bringing this initiative to Woodruff residents, Ripple Fiber helped enhance the experience by providing refreshments, event support, and informative guides with tips on safe web browsing and Wi-Fi troubleshooting. All attendees were also entered into an iPad giveaway, extending the event’s lasting impact even further.

“We’re proud to partner with Ripple Fiber as part of our SC@Work: Rural Connections initiative. Their commitment to supporting rural communities helps us bridge the gap between talent and opportunity, ensuring that every South Carolinian has access to the resources they need to succeed,” added Nicole Plata, Rural Initiative Outreach Specialist with SC Works. “Together, we’re expanding access to essential technology and empowering residents in underserved areas to succeed in a technology-driven environment.”

With its 10Gig network, Ripple Fiber provides thousands of homes with lightning-fast connectivity that will power regions for decades to come. Embracing optimism and recognizing the importance of digital access, Ripple Fiber strives to empower its customers by equipping them with the necessary tools to build a bright future.
