(December 10, 2025) – Ripple Fiber, a leading 100-percent fiber-optic internet provider and network operator, announces plans for Merrimac, Massachusetts. In partnership with the Merrimac Municipal Light Department, Ripple Fiber is bringing high-speed fiber internet to over 3,000 households throughout the town. With construction now underway, the provider anticipates its first customers in the area to begin enjoying service by Spring 2026.

“Our presence in Massachusetts has evolved quickly, due to efficient deployment and collaborative community partners, including the Merrimac Municipal Light Department,” said Greg Wilson, Founder and CEO of Ripple Fiber. “We’re eager to deliver fiber internet to Merrimac residents in the coming months, especially those who have yet to experience the best internet option available. As we move into 2026, Ripple Fiber is exploring additional opportunities to grow our network throughout Essex County.”

With Ripple Fiber, the community gains access to a strong, dependable network supported by exceptional bandwidth, symmetrical speeds, enhanced security, and improved reliability. For households relying on Wi-Fi for remote work, online learning, gaming, or video streaming, multigig package options are available, centered on transparent pricing without contracts or hidden fees. Additionally, customers can expect to receive a White Glove Installation to ensure a seamless in-home setup. Residents who are ready to upgrade their in-home network to lightning-fast fiber internet are encouraged to pre-order service, which can be done online, by phone, or in-person.

“On behalf of the Merrimac Municipal Light Department, I’m pleased to welcome our new internet provider, Ripple Fiber, to town. Our team has been hard at work completing the make-ready requirements and setting new poles to support this important service expansion,” said Mary Usovicz, General Manager of Merrimac Municipal Light Department. “We’re proud to play a key role in bringing faster, more reliable connectivity to our residents and look forward to the benefits this partnership will deliver for the entire community.”

“Merrimac is thrilled to welcome Ripple Fiber to town,” added Chris Manni, Selectboard Chair, Town of Merrimac. "We are grateful for their collaboration to bring this needed infrastructure project to fruition, providing our residents with high-speed fiber internet.”

With Ripple Fiber now investing in Essex County with this expansion into Merrimac, construction continues in nearby Worcester County, specifically in Holden and West Boylston. The provider recently celebrated the launch of service for its first customers in the state, as more than 11,000 homes are now going live in Holden. In early 2026, Ripple Fiber will celebrate the opening of its new office in Clinton with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
