(September 18, 2024) – Ripple Fiber has announced plans to expand their footprint into the American Midwest, specifically the Michigan market.

Construction will soon begin on Ripple Fiber’s planned network expansion into Michigan.

The company, an internet service provider based in North Carolina, has been expanding rapidly across the Carolinas.

According to Ripple Fiber’s recent announcement, the news marks the company’s first entrance into the American Midwest.

The expansion into Michigan aims to connect over 60,000 residents in Wayne County by 2025, Ripple Fiber’s release stated.

Greg Wilson, the CEO of Ripple Fiber, said the company began exploring an expansion into Michigan earlier this year.

“We quickly identified Wayne County as an optimal entrance point for us to expand into Michigan,” Wilson said.

He said through Ripple Fiber’s partnership with local officials in Wayne County, his firm “understands the expectations of this new project and is committed to offering exceptional fiber internet service to residents.”

Earlier this month, Ripple Fiber announced planned expansions in North Carolina’s in Gaston and Cleveland counties.

That development followed Ripple’s announcement of a partnership with Open Broadband in August, an internet service provider focused on underserved areas in South Carolina.
