(March 3, 2026) –  Ripple Fiber, a leading 100-percent fiber-optic internet provider and network operator, announces the beginning of construction in Federal Way, Washington. Following the recent groundbreaking in Ocean Shores, Washington, the provider is making progress on the $250 million project that includes more than 200,000 homes and businesses across King County and Grays Harbor County. Ripple Fiber expects to launch service to customers in Federal Way by summer 2026.

“Successful infrastructure projects start with trust, early engagement, and collaboration. The City of Federal Way and the Greater Federal Way Chamber of Commerce have been thoughtful partners as we’ve worked to align this project with the community’s vision for growth, connectivity, and economic opportunity,” said Mitzi McMahan, Director of Government Affairs at Ripple Fiber. “Homes and businesses will now be equipped to meet the growing demands of remote work, telehealth, online learning, and more.”

As the construction phase begins, residents are encouraged to pre-order service online or by phone. With Ripple Fiber, residents will gain access to a strong, dependable network supported by exceptional bandwidth, symmetrical speeds, enhanced security, and improved reliability. For those relying on Wi-Fi for remote work, online learning, gaming, or video streaming, multigig package options are available, centered on transparent pricing without contracts or hidden fees. Customers also receive a White Glove Installation for a seamless in-home setup, plus Ripple Fiber’s 30-day Service Promise designed to ensure an exceptional start.

“We are excited about the possibilities of fiber internet in Federal Way. Expanding fiber infrastructure will make us a more connected city and ensure every member of our community can fully participate in today’s digital world,” added Mayor Jim Ferrell of Federal Way.

“Hiring within the community to give residents an enhanced customer experience, Ripple Fiber plans to open an office in the Federal Way area to provide valuable, local support,” said VP/GM, Washington Region at Ripple Fiber. “Aiming to expand upon this initial project, we are actively exploring opportunities in the surrounding areas to deliver fiber internet access to more residents throughout the state.”

While many have already begun receiving direct updates from Ripple Fiber, homeowners within the current build area can expect to see mailed letters and door hangers sharing more information about what to expect during the construction process.
